Grant Wing at The Croft – Specialised Dementia Care
Our highly qualified, carefully selected and compassionate staff are experienced in the various types of dementia.
We provide a high level of care in a relaxed, home-like environment, doing everything we can to assist loved ones to feel as safe and comfortable as they would in their own home.
Respecting each resident’s values and experiences in life, we support them to maintain their identity, self worth and purpose in life.
We focus on each resident as the individual they are, wrapping care around them that is tailored to their own unique needs.
Involving loved ones in care planning is an important part of this process, building a good rapport with family so that we can all speak freely and honestly. We encourage you to share your own experiences and any strategies you may have developed for managing challenging behaviours.
Croft Home Grant Wing balances safety and security with choice and variety – residents enjoy the freedom to come and go indoors and outdoors as they please into attractive courtyard and garden areas. Rooms are spacious, with ensuites and pleasant courtyard outlooks.
Our well resourced, seven-day activity programme (developed by a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator) is varied and fun, with residents able to enjoy and actively engage in crafts, gardening, exercises, baking, concerts, outings, trips out to our Enliven Centre pet care and more. Families and friends are welcome and encouraged to visit anytime and join in.
The unit has several pets, including Ragdoll cats Lulu and Chevy, birds and other regular four-legged visitors from around the Croft Complex and wider community.
Our caring team are committed to the principles of the Eden Alternative Philosophy®, supporting residents in their choices and affirming the spontaneity and human connection that is so important to quality of life in dementia care.
