Christmas is a special time for most, but sadly for some in our community, this is a time of hardship and stress.
Presbyterian Support Family Works and The Timaru Herald are once again supporting families in need with the South Canterbury community Christmas tree.
We need your help with gifts and food items for children, teens, Mums, Dads, grandparents and families. Please drop your new (not pre-loved) unwrapped gifts into the Timaru Herald foyer on Sophia St, to help make Christmas special – for everyone in our community.
Gifts will be gratefully accepted until early in the week of 21 December.
(Please note that we need gifts for boys as well as girls, and also for teenagers.)
Christmas is a time of giving and for the Family Works team, it’s all about helping local families and kids be safe, strong and connected.
The Christmas message is one of hope, compassion and love and by working with the Timaru Herald, the community Christmas tree provides the opportunity for people to share at this important time. Parents – this is a great way to encourage your children to experience the joy of giving, learning about our community and the needs of others.
Please support this effort – the demand for Family Works services and the number of families we are working with has grown again over this past year, which means more families needing support at this time.
We appreciate you
