Christmas is a special time for most, but sadly for some in our community, this is a time of hardship and stress.
Presbyterian Support Family Works and The Timaru Herald are once again supporting families in need with the South Canterbury Community Christmas tree.
We need your help with gifts and food items for children, teens, Mums, Dads, grandparents and families. Please drop your unwrapped gifts into the Timaru Herald foyer on Sophia St, to help make Christmas special – for everyone in our community. Timaru Herald office hours 9am – 1pm & 2pm-5pm Monday to Friday (closed from 1-2pm weekdays)
Gifts will be gratefully accepted until Friday 16th December.
(Please note that we need gifts for boys as well as girls, and also for teenagers.)
Christmas is a time of giving and for the Family Works team, it’s all about families and kids. Strong families build strong communities.
The Christmas message is one of hope, compassion and love and by working with the Timaru Herald, the community Christmas tree provides the opportunity for people to share at this important time. Parents – this is a great way to encourage your children to experience giving, learning about our community and the needs of others.
