In need of house hold items for new former Refugee families.
Refugee Settlement Service are in need of quality second hand towels, bedding, kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans to help new families to Timaru get a good head start. If you are having a clean out and can donate items please contact the Refugee Settlement Services office on 687-1140 or Jill de Joux on 027 358 4083. Items that we welcome to be donated include:
Gift/Cash cards
Providing cash/gift cards will assist our newly arrived former refugees to purchase specific items that they may need to help them set up. This may include household items, clothing, food or school supplies. Some suggested stores for purchasing in Timaru are: The Warehouse, Countdown, New World, Warehouse Stationary, Briscoes.
General
- Bike helmets & bike chains
- Rice cooker
- Large cooking pots
- Warm blankets for bedding (woollen blankets, duvets)
- Double pram for two toddlers
- Wok/Fry pans
- Wooden spoons/spatulas/large serving spoons/tongs
- Broom
- Cutlery
- Crockery
- Apron
- Linen (clean & good condition, or new)
- Pillows (new only, please)
- Pillow cases (new only, please)
- Towels (good condition, or new)
- Stationary (paper, pens)
- Pot plants
- Toys/puzzles/games
- Bicycles/scooters/tricycles and helmets
